About Me
I have had many influences and experiences, that inform the manner in which I practice therapy. Difficult life events-including loss are certainly part of this. My dual careers as a social worker/psychotherapist and occupational therapist have given me a well-rounded view of the human condition. Having worked in inpatient psychiatric facilities, out-patient clinics, private practice and school settings, I have had the privilege of working with clients and students with a vast variety of challenges, classifications and diagnoses.
Decades of meditation and mindfulness practice, have benefited me in life, and are also tools that impact the way I engage in the therapeutic process. I have also interviewed and written about musicians of varying degrees of popularity, for Long Island Pulse magazine. This experience reinforced my innate belief, that each of us is fascinating and has a life journey-worthy of exploring and honoring. My approach is eclectic and tailored in a respectful way to match the needs of each individual client. I believe the therapeutic process is a partnership, in which one’s uniqueness and struggles are to be celebrated and addressed with compassion.
